SHSC Appliance Bulk Buy
SHSC offers a bulk purchasing solution for kitchen appliances eligible for Social Housing Renovation and Retrofit Program (SHRRP) funding. Our Bulk Buy program follows municipal best practices and complies with SHRRP purchasing rules. Participants may also be eligible for a volume rebate, depending on how many units are sold.

The SHSC Bulk Buy program follows municipal best practices and complies with SHRRP purchasing rules. By purchasing through SHSC, you can be assured that standards are adhered to and due diligence has been met. Providers do not need to feel they are torn between their loyalty to sector organizations and competitive procurement. SHSC is working with sector organizations so that they are not adversely affected.
- Convenience: Our service includes public competitive procurement, order placing, delivery and installation, environmental decommissioning and recycling.
- Peace of Mind and Selection: Extended warranties are available on all appliances for up to five years. In addition, you can select fire-mitigating stove-top elements as a pre-installed option on ranges - recommended by the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal
How it works
As the purchasing agent, SHSC procures and negotiates a Master Agreement with the vendor to place bulk orders. Your purchase order for goods and services will be issued against the Master agreement that SHSC has negotiated with the vendor. This purchase order forms the contract between you and the vendor. The vendor then delivers and installs your new appliances to your housing units and removes the old appliances for decommissioning and recycling. You will receive an invoice from the vendor directly.
We also negotiated a volume rebate with the vendor. The dollar amount of the rebate depends on the number units are purchased by all participants by year end. The vendor will provide the rebate to SHSC in one lump sum. SHSC will then forward your share of the rebate.
