Family Responsibility and Support Arrears Enforcement Act
The Family Responsibility and Support Arrears Enforcement Act sets out Ontario’s regime for child and spousal support orders. As employers, service managers and housing providers should be aware of their obligations to make deductions from an employee’s pay upon receipt of a support deduction order (see especially sections 22, 23, 29 and 51). There is also a general duty to provide information related to the enforcement of support orders when it is requested by the Family Responsibility Office (see section 54).
