This resource explains the basics of asset management and capital planning, why it is important and how you can integrate regular building maintenance with forecasting and life-cycle projections.

  • The RFP Template is designed so that you can simply fill out the appropriate information, tailor it to your property’s components and send it out to prospective consultants quickly. The successful consultant will use the accompanying software to give you a BCA and Reserve Fund Forecast that responds to the particular needs of your building(s) and your replacement schedule.

  • Like the BCA templates and resources, the Energy Audit template, software and user guide are all designed to make the tendering process easier for housing providers to manage and easier for consultants to respond. The successful consultant will use the Energy Audit software for reporting back to you. You will have results, both hard and soft copies and this will be useful immediately and on an on-going basis as you begin to plan for the work.


Integrated Resource

  • If you have not done either a BCA or an energy audit, the BCA-Energy RFP integrates an energy audit into the building condition assessment process. This means that your BCA will also highlight energy savings you can integrate into your capital planning process.
